Winds of Autumn by rougeux Winds of Autumn by rougeux
I made this a while ago. Probably back in October but have been eagerly awaiting the release of Niteangel's Autumn Edition to release it. Now I can. :) Check out the great work in this Edition and treat your eyes to some sweet sweet candy.

Awesome. The greenness of spring gives way to the brilliant and varies of fall, the many lines of still green trees bowing before the majesty of the single golden tree that bursts into sudden and brilliant color. It constrasts sharply as the first herald of winter and yet as the last hurrah of life. We know that it cannot last, that winter MUST claim it soon, but yet the image itself is immortalized.
I'm adding this to my wishlist. You're the first person I've ever added to my wishlist, and I've added THREE things now.

What a stunning image, it is so beautiful. Fabulous work :jawdrop: :wow:

This is lovely! I love the feeling that I'm in a long corridor, watching the wind swirl the leaves around... However, I do have to agree with the comment that pointed out that the upper part of this image is much stronger than the bottom 1/3 to 1/2. I'm wondering (not knowing much about UltraFractal, or how you work) whether it might not be worth revisiting this piece, to see if you can take it to even greater heights. :) Either way, it's still a stunner. :) A definite :+fav: !

I read an article in a magazine by some random person, he had a lot to say about fractals and the fact that they are not art ...

But seeing this and your other pieces I beg to differ :D
wonderfull, the way each thread radiates out from the centre of the light ( the blow effect is very nice to) and winds it way out and down, makes it look like a majestic light house.

....not commenting on the use of any program simply because I know shit about Fractal programs :)

What I see is a good flow of form and color which seems to be very well directed by you within any program you were using. This one has a feeling of being a painting at least to me...As always I love your work

novispoon Featured By Owner Dec 15, 2003
Argh. Silly emoticon mangled my coordinates . That should be ( 94, 58 ).
novispoon Featured By Owner Dec 15, 2003
IMHO, this has it's good and bad points, though the overall impression is good. The chief bad point is purely mine, and that's that it looks much more "obviously fractal" than many of your works, particularly on the lower two thirds.

But that upper third is intriguing. I'm wondering if you could take a 4:3 area from up that way (say, the area covered by (94, 58) in the upper left to (558, 406) in the lower right), re-render it large and make a great wallpaper from it. Or something.

mmm, beautiful! i really like the colors (and i generally love fractals ;)) and the mix of repetitive structures and assymetry. :D
rjupiter Featured By Owner Dec 14, 2003   Photographer
wow, who knew a fractal could look so beautiful. The sweeping lines that swirl about the piece along with colors all make it flow very well together. I especially like the top/pinnacle where it swirls together in the light.

Ok, to be honest, I have no idea what this is nor the program mentioned above. I only cling to Photoshop and Corel Painter so yeah, mind my limited knowledge. But this poster looks wicked :D

~cracks knuckles~

Let's see, now. I'm guessing you used an altered Newtonian fractal set for the primary design. Similarly, probably a singular fractal template altered slightly made the spinning threads. And you probably used at least one layer for the interior image (a mask formed from the original Newton set?).

Although looking back on it, I swear I see the Mandelbrot set in black below the yellow nexus point. And I believe I see as well a highly modified gradient of the julia set in the upper background which looks like the fallen leaves.

There ya go, Nick. Here's hoping I get better at guessing these. ^^
